Safety
How to report something on ThingSong, and how to pick up a thing safely.
An intimate image of you, shared without consent
If ThingSong shows an intimate image or video of you that you didn't agree to share, tell us and we'll take it down within 48 hours, along with any copies we find on ThingSong. That includes a fake one made with AI or editing software. You don't need a ThingSong account, and you can send it for someone who asked you to.
If the person shown may be under 18, say so on the form: we also report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as the law requires. If anyone is in danger, call 911.
Copyright
If a performance or a giveaway uses your work without permission, send us a copyright notice. If yours was taken down because of one and you think it's a mistake, you can send a counter-notice.
Anything else
To report a performance, a giveaway or a person for anything else that breaks our rules, tap Report on it in the app. Our team reviews every report. You can also email hello@thingsong.com.
Picking up a thing
- Meet in a public spot when you can. Many police stations have a safe exchange spot, often marked and on camera. A library or a busy store's parking lot works too. Givers can choose one when they post.
- Pick a daytime pickup when you can, and bring someone along or tell someone you trust where you're going.
- Never pay. Entering, winning and picking up are free. If anyone asks you for money, a deposit or payment details, don't pay, and report it.
- Look it over before you take it. Things are given as they are, and ThingSong doesn't inspect them.
- The pickup address stays private. Only the winner gets it, after they book a pickup time.
- If something feels wrong, leave. In an emergency, call 911.
Child safety
ThingSong is for adults. Our child safety standards say how we prevent and respond to child sexual abuse and exploitation.
